Women’s Comedy Workshop
Natalie and Sophie invite you to apply for The Women’s Comedy Workshop.
These women-led workshops centre around a radical approach to writing and performing stand-up, which is friendly, supportive and challenging.
Over the course of 4 Saturday afternoons, you will develop your own comedic style and material. You will then have the opportunity to perform for 5-10 minutes at one of our very own Not An Open Mic Nights. The performance isn’t mandatory, but – trust us – you’ll want to get on that stage!
Natalie is a PhD candidate at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she is researching women’s empowerment through comedy. Sophie is an experienced education facilitator, with an interest in comedy and power. Now comedy-collaborators, Natalie and Sophie met through previous WCWs – proof that greatness is born in these spaces.
Previous participants have used these workshops to build their confidence, be a part of a community or improve their performance skills. Some have just come to have fun. Women having fun is radical.
Whatever your reason, we know you’re funny. Come and let us prove it to you.
Please note: previous projects have always been over-subscribed, so please get your applications in ASAP to avoid disappointment. Final Deadline is 21 September.
