Bradford Producing Hub (BPH) is a new project funded by Arts Council England which seeks to transform the conditions for artists and audiences for live performance in Bradford.

The consortium seeks to appoint a Commissioning Producer who will lead on the initial activities of the Hub for the first 6 months, laying the foundations for the recruitment of the project team and successful delivery of this project.

Overview

The first 6 months will be key to the successful delivery of this ground-breaking project, this is an exciting opportunity for someone with significant strategic commissioning, producing and project management experience to work with the consortium to drive forward the first phase of activity through a series of artist-led projects to establish the way of working for BPH.

It has always been the intention that this first phase of activity would focus on significant cultural mapping and consultation with all our stakeholders which includes (but is not limited to): artists, producers, potential and actual audiences, young people, people from backgrounds and experiences currently underrepresented in the arts and aspiring creatives. The Commissioning Producer will work closely with the consortium to commission and support a number of artist-led projects, conversations and creative responses to achieve this.

The Hub is determined to take a broad, inclusive and forward-thinking approach to access – where our communities will tell us what they need. With appropriate budget resource in place to realise this, the Commissioning Producer has the opportunity to be instrumental in embedding an approach and processes that positively and pro-actively actively champions inclusion, diversity and representation.
